CAREER OPPORTUNITY
U.S. Embassy Dhaka is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Security Investigator.

The incumbent is under the direct supervision of the Deputy Senior Foreign Service National Investigator (DSFSNI). The incumbent conducts full background suitability investigations on current and prospective employees for all agencies at the U.S. Embassy. The incumbent conducts special investigations as delegated by the DSFSNI and as requested through the Regional Security Office. The incumbent develops and maintains liaison with mid-level police, government officials and security contacts across Bangladesh which includes 64 districts, 7 divisions and 7 metropolitan cities. Incumbent acts as security liaison for VIP visits and in-country Ambassadorial visits as delegated by the DSFSNI. These visits and in-country trips require pre-travel security assessment, route analysis, and coordination with Bangladeshi law enforcement. The FSNI is the lead local security advisor on these trips/visits and provides security analysis and recommendations to the Assistant Regional Security Officer (ARSO). While traveling with VIPs and the Ambassador, the incumbent frequently transcends the normal mid-level contact threshold and liaises with the highest levels of law enforcement and government officials from each district, coordinating all levels of security and fostering improved relations between the U.S. Mission and the Government of Bangladesh. The incumbent assists in the oversight of a 350 member Local Guard Program under the ARSO COR (Contracting Officer Representative). The incumbent coordinates the various Bangladesh law enforcement entities in their deployments around U.S. Government facilities and event venues under the direction of the DSFSNI.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Arts, Commerce, or Science is required. (U.S. equivalent college studies). (You must attach a copy of your bachelor’s degree certificate along with your application form.)
  • Three years’ experience in investigations, human resources, law, or administration.
  • Level IV in English and Bangla (speaking/reading/writing) required. This may be tested.
  • Must be computer literate and show proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Ability to maintain extensive contacts with working level officials of local security and law enforcement agencies; exercise initiative and resourcefulness in obtaining information or evidence and should be able to draft concise reports in English and Bangla. The ability to structure information into informative and concise reports is essential. Must be able to comprehend Department of State operation manuals and procedures and implement guidance accordingly. Must be able to receive verbal instructions and implement concepts and goals to completion without significant supervision.
